Origins of surname
We have no information on the derivation of this surname which is still present in Jersey today. It is a French name and lievre=hare probably has something to do with the origin.
The first baptism record is that of Eliza Mary Beslievre in 1840, the daughter of Louis Adolphe and Marie Jeanne Le Canu.
Alfred Peter (or possibly Peter Alfred) Beslievre was born in 1887 to Mary Eugenie Besselievre (1845- ), who lived with, but appears not to have been married to Desire Le Mauviot (see tree below).
