Origin of Surname

Breton is a surname derived from the French term for Brittany.

The surname can be found in the islands from as early as the Assize Rolls of 1309, where Peter Le Breton and John Le Breton are mentioned in Guernsey & Stephen Le Breton is found in St Helier, Jersey.
