Origins of surname
We have no information on the derivation of this name, but believe that, like 'Brevet', it may have been a diminuitive of bref, a term applied to a man of short stature.
The first member of the family to arrive in Jersey was Cosme Brevint, a clergyman and Hueguenot refugee.
