Origins of surname

Apart from ten baptism and 16 birth registrations in Jersey during the late 19th and early 20th century, we have been able to find very few references to this surname, and no indication of its origins. It is predominantly a Breton name

The first appearance of this surname in Jersey records was the 1873 baptism of John, son of Vincent and Eliza Camiot, in St Peter
