Origins of surname

From the old Norse word Kross, this surname referred to someone living near a roadside cross, at crossroads, or someone who carried the cross during a religious procession

Early records

The first appearance of this surname in Jersey records was the baptism of Antoine, son of Walter Cross, in St Brelade in 1718
