Origin of Surname

The origin of the surname De La Court is believed to refer to someone who lived in a Seigneur's courtyard [1].

Colin and Augustin De La Court were jurors and Matthew De La Court was Bailiff in the Assizes of 1309 in Guernsey.

Jurat Jean De La Court established the De La Court Fund in 1588 to support the poor of the island of Guernsey[2].
