This tree has been assembled from three submitted trees, and cross-referenced with church records. There is some doubt about the link from Nicolas at generation 3 to Philippe at generation 4, but we are reasonably confident about the tree from that point downwards.

Further details, and an extended descendant line from Edouard (1845- ) at generation 9 were added following the receipt of more information in 2020. Another descendant line from Edouard (1814- ) at generation 8 was added in 2021

Two further reviews in 2022 resulted in the addition of more details

In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records. His birth year is variously suggested as 1609 or 1611, both probably too late to be the father of Nicolas, but dates this early must be considered as approximate. Gringoire/Gregoire is said to have had further children: Edouard (1599- ), Josue (1602- ), Anne (1604- ), Josue (1609- ), Abigail (1612- ), Sarah (1614- ) and Elizabeth (1616- )
