Descendants of Jean Amy

TreeIcon.png

This tree, showing a hitherto poorly researched branch of the Amy family of Grouville, was researched and added by Mike Bisson in 2021, to show the ancestry of the family at Les Arches Farm, St Martin in the 19th and 20th centuries. Mike warns that his research was assisted by one or two online trees, and that although the resulting tree fits with church records, some generational links are a little uncertain and could fit with other records

Record Search

If you want to search for records for any name in this family tree, or for any other family name, just click below on the first letter of the family name you are interested in. This will open a new tab in your browser giving you a list of family names beginning with that letter, for which there are baptism records in our database of half a million church and public registry records.

You can also select marriages or burials. Select the name you want and when the list of records is displayed you can easily refine the search, choosing a single parish, given name(s) and/or start and end dates.

The records are displayed 30 to a page, but by selecting the yellow Wiki Table option at the top left of the page you can open a full, scrollable list. This list will either be displayed in a new tab or a pop-up window. You may have to edit the settings of your browser to allow pop-up windows for www.jerripediabmd.net. For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.

Notes and references

  1. Jean is shown in online trees as the son of Francois Amy and Esther Lempriere. However, their son Jean is shown in two Jerripedia trees married to either a Messervy or an Aubin, so he is not being linked to any ancestors until they can be proved. Jean and Marie are shown online as having several children, which could be confirmed by baptism records. It is almost certain, however, that there were two Jean Amys, married to Maries, having families in Grouville at the same time and no maiden names are given for the mothers in the register
