Descendants of Nicolas Houguez

We have some reservations about the accuracy of the first three generations of this tree. We are not certain that Lucas (1792-1867) and Laurent (1797-1882) were brothers. We are, however, reasonably confident about the descendancies shown for Lucas and Laurent. If they were not brothers, they were almost certainly first cousins. Just to add to the confusion Laurent (1767- ) was previously shown as Lucas, but we now believe that to have been incorrect.

The tree was added to the site in 2014 and reviewed in 2019, when some details, including wives' names and marriage dates, were added, but the uncertainties mentioned above could not be resolved. We were able to draw on what appears to be a generally reliable online tree to extend this tree back two further generations - see note attached to Nicolas at generation 1. The online tree supports the view that Lucas at generation 3 should be Laurent
