  4. Elizabeth Le Feuvre, of Millais, St Ouen, was a kinswoman of Philippe Le Feuvre, Cromwellian Jurat, who belonged to this Millais branch of the Le Feuvre family, (correcting a mention of this man as being a part of the Le Feuvre family of Val de La Mare, St Peter, in the Armorial of Jersey, J B Payne, 210)

  6. Of La Porte. He gave his name to Le Havre Jean de Gruchy, Bonne Nuit, just below La Crête Fort and within walking distance of La Porte. A small boat he moored there during the summer was taken by the French in 1737, in order to board George Le Seelleur`s vessel anchored nearby. Jean was called as a witness in the ensuing investigation, giving his age as twenty-nine

  10. Died by 1786, when another child born to his parents was so named. A `partage`, or legal division of property, in this case of his brother the late Edouard de Gruchy, dated 13th July 1805, confirms this, as it states that Philippe`s brother Jean was the principal heir and not Philippe. In Jersey law, the principal heir to the real estate of a deceased person was their senior relative and should they have predeceased the defunct, then their own senior surviving relative inherits the principal share. Hence Philippe had indeed died without heirs by then, as had Edouard
