Notes and references
- ↑ Born at Les Aix, St Peter, which his family owned, and killed in 1884 by a stone falling at Vinchelez de Bas, where he then lived: Joan Stevens' Old Jersey Houses, . This was corroborated in a conversation, in London in 1966, between the author of this note and the late Kenneth Henry Le Sueur, who recounted the details of his great-grandfather`s death. A detail missing from Mrs Stevens`s account was that Mr Le Sueur was actually killed when pulling ivy from the ancient roadside arch at Vinchelez de Bas, by a stone that became dislodged
- ↑ Of Hamptonne, St Peter, purchased by her great-great-grandfather Philippe Le Couteur (1724- ) in 1759. His son Philippe Le Couteur (1757- ) marrried Elizabeth de Carteret (1763- ) of Vinchelez de Bas, and that property was eventually inherited by Harriet Elizabeth Le Couteur from the De Carterets in 1875.
