Pierre Dallain and Michelle Bosquet (shown by some sources as Le Bas) married in France and left for Jersey in about 1687 with four children after the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685.

  3. Of Highlands, (St L). He or his son, Jean Gedeon, built the 19th century `cod` house adjoining but above, the original house. Their increased opulence may have been due to Simonet money from the tobacco trade but there was also in the 19th century at Burgeo, Newfoundland, a `cod firm` run by Le Gros and Dallain. Gedeon Dallain was Constable of St Lawrence 1813-1816
