Record Search

If you want to search for records for any name in this family tree, or for any other family name, just click below on the first letter of the family name you are interested in. This will open a new tab in your browser giving you a list of family names beginning with that letter, for which there are baptism records in our database of half a million church and public registry records.

You can also select marriages or burials. Select the name you want and when the list of records is displayed you can easily refine the search, choosing a single parish, given name(s) and/or start and end dates.

The records are displayed 30 to a page, but by selecting the yellow Wiki Table option at the top left of the page you can open a full, scrollable list. This list will either be displayed in a new tab or a pop-up window. You may have to edit the settings of your browser to allow pop-up windows for For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.

Edouard Ného, of the Vingtaine du Rondin, and his wife, feature on the list of communicants of Trinity in 1613 [SJB 1, 371]. His family have left their name to a field and house formerly situated there, in Trinity, named La Néhoterie, on the north side of the main road at Haute Croix cross-roads (C. Hocquard, on Godfray`s Map of Jersey (1849))
  23. R.P. 7/238 (1625): Josué de Carteret Ecr sells to Pierre Deslandes fils Hélier a costil in Trinity, near "les vieux manoirs." Pierre Deslandes, his sister Jeanne and father also feature in the following court entry: R.P. 21/113 (1674): Pierre Deslandes fils Hélier of one part, and Josué Deslandes his son and Jeanne Deslandes his daughter of the other part. As Pierre Deslandes has reached old age, he wishes his two children to partage amicably the inheritance. Josué to have the house in Trinity and Jeanne to have rentes...
  24. Perrin Bisson and Jeanne Deslandes named their second child Jeanne. Her godparents in 1645 were Pierre Deslandes and Sara, his wife. Josué Deslandes was a godparent to another of the Bisson children in 1649, to whom he would have been uncle
  25. Josué Deslandes: There were, in Trinity, two contemporary Josué Deslandes. One of these (1645- ) is recorded in the Land Registry [R.P.] as "fils Matthieu", who features above and in "Descendants of Mathieu Deslandes"; the other (1655- ) is recorded as "fils Josué". 28. R.P. 6/161 (1623): Jean Deslandes fils Pierre sells to Pierre Deslandes his eldest son the house Jean had purchased from Philippe Vaudin and Vincent Corbel, situated in St John, "Fieu de Herrupe" for the price of 3 Quartiers

  31. Jean Deslandes was baptised, unlike Pierre`s other children in St John, as son of "Pierre Deslandes et Sara, sa femme". This may be an error in the register, "Sara" for "Susanne", as the Pierre Deslandes who had at this date a wife named Sara [née Dorey], lived in Trinity and had presented there in baptism his own son, Josué, in December, that year. It is unlikely that he would have presented in baptism another son, Jean, the previous month, in another parish
