Stanley Taylor Gillam is in this photograph of the contingent of the Royal Jersey Militia which represented the island at the Coronation of George V in 1911. He joined the Army at the oubreak of the Great War and was severely wounded. After spending some time at home recuperating he returned to the front and was present at the first air raid on Boulogne, before being invalided out. He suffered continuing ill health and died at the age of 53 in 1936
