Origins of surname

This name is derived from the Anglo Saxon for grand homestead, also the source of Grantham. It probably referred to someone who lived and worked in a posh house, rather than the owner

Early records

The first appearance of this surname in Jersey records was in the 1770s, when the daughters of Arthur Grham and Rachel Mauger were baptised
