Historic Environment Record entry
Listed building
This 1970s house is a rare, good example of its type in Jersey. It is a cleverly designed house maximising the small, steep site with consideration for orientation and views.
The internal functions are reflected in the external massing and the public and private elevations are clearly expressed.
The use of materials externally and internally, and their detailing, are a good example of the period. Internally original details such as the door frames, stair and cupboards are retained.
Design of the external spaces works in conjunction with and detailing is consistent with the building. 1972. Designed by client Bob Paton, design realised by Malcom Peck and Partners, project architect Derek Mason.
First metric brick house in Jersey.
Detached, two storey with one and a half storey entrance wing. Pitched roof with clerestory on southwest ridge, fibre cement slates, pvc gutters, brick chimney on southwest wall; flat roof behind brick parapet on entrance wing.
Living space is open to roof with exposed purlins and ties; chimney breast is exposed brick.
