Le Cornu family members who served in the Great War

Armourer Philip Renouf Le Cornu, died of wounds following the Battle of Jutland on HMS Malaya and is buried in Lyness Royal Naval Cemetery, Orkney


Four members of the family lost their lives while serving in the armed forces and a further 35 saw active service in World War 1

  • Charles James Seward Le Cornu MC (1887- ) (St Luke) son of Charles Frederic and Catherina Oceana, Lt-Colonel, Indian Army, OV, Military Cross awarded December 1916, no citation found
  • Ralph Bertram Le Cornu MC (1893- ) (St Luke) son of Charles Frederic and Catherina Oceana, Captain, RASC, OV, ex-RMIJ, Military Cross, no citation found
