Origin of Surname

The surname Le Page is of French origin, derived from the occupation of valet, as the term page retained this meaning in France up to the 15th Century. In France it is most common in the Finisterre department, at the eastern tip of Brittany.

The surname Le Page is very common in Guernsey, less so in Jersey.

Early records

The first baptism records in Jersey appear at the end of the 17th century. The name is still present today in both Guernsey and Jersey.
