Le Roux family members who served in the Great War






Three members of the family lost their lives while serving in the armed forces and a further seven saw active service in World War 1


Three French servicemen who had been living in Jersey died in the conflict

  • Alfred Victor, Croix de Guerre, Medaille Militaire, Sergeant, 1st Zouave Regiment, French Infantry
  • Jean Marie Le Roux, Soldat, 48th Regiment, French Infantry

Three brothers, sons of Elias Alfred and Mary Ann, who served.

  • Sydney Elias Le Roux (1897- ) (St ), Able Seaman RN, HMS Britannia
  • Walter Elias Le Roux (1900- ) (St P), Gunner, Royal Field Artillery
  • John Francis Elias Le Roux (St H), Driver, Royal Field Artillery
