Origins of surname
Saux is a variation of saule, the French word for 'willow', and so the surname indicates someone who lived near a willow tree, or trees, or came from one of the many habitations given the name.
The name first appeared in Jersey church records with the baptism of Marie Jeanne Le Saux, daughter of Pierre and Marie, in 1843.
