Talk:The Grange

Regarding The Grange, the photograph on the bottom of the page is from my family with my grandfather, James John Pearce Martin, standing in front of the gate of The Grange. I have often wondered if this was a Martin family home. Our Jersey Martins had a farm in St Peter near Mont des Vignes with rights over Goose Green Marsh. I had wondered if this "Grange" may have been the one for which this brochure was issued: https://www.grangedevelopments.co.uk/media/51180/the-grange-st-peter-brochure.pdf although this of course looks like a modern version of a Georgian house. It is not clear if this is actually an old farmhouse which has been cladded. Our family has two Martin lines from Jersey, the older one which owned the St Peter property, and one originating in Guernsey. James John Pearce Martin descends from the Guernsey line with his grandfather being William Martin, a cabinet maker, born in St Peter Port about 1814.
