Origins of surname

This name comes from tison, old French for 'firebrand'

Early records

In 1887 Francis, son of William Francis Tisson and Edith Mary Ward, was baptised in St Helier. From 1887 to 1896, seven children of George Mauger Tisson and Jeanne Chanvril were baptised in the parish
