Visit by HMS Jersey



Seven months after her launch in 1938, the Royal Navy's latest J-Class Destroyer, the sixth to bear the name HMS Jersey, paid an official visit to the island.

She was laid down on 20 September 1937, launched on 26 September 1938 by the wife of Bailiff Alexander Coutanche, and completed on 28 April 1939.
