Charles Edward Dorey
From theislandwiki
Charles Edward Dorey and his wife Eliza, nee Hacquoil, moved to Southampton from Jersey around 1900. They bought a Cart Tavern, essentially a pub for the horse and cart workers at the docks. Charles became a drunk and was committed for having the shakes by his son Edward Charles Dorey. This caused a rift in the family with no one talking to Edward for a number of years.
Seamen used to stay at the tavern and they used to bring Charles pipes back from thier travels so he amassed quite a colection.
Charles left everything to Edward including data from Jersey on his family, unfortunatley this was lost when Edward died.
