This tree was previously Descendants of Josue Benest, based on one in Payne's Armorial of Jersey, but containing very few dates. A major review of the tree was carried out in 2019 by Guy Dixon and, although the position of one or two individuals is still open to question, and some dates are approximate, we now have much more confidence in this descendancy, which links to an earlier tree

  20. ↑ This marriage entry has not been found; it may have taken place in Guernsey, where the surname Mauger is common and where André Migault was a minister. It would also explain the absence for all four of their children of a baptismal entry in Jersey. Elizabeth Mauger was described in 1768 as the widow of Philippe Benest, when she stood as godmother of Philippe Benest, son of Philippe, son of Philippe, to whom she was grande-mère as well as godmother
