Descendants of Jean Bisson

The accuracy of this submitted tree was challenged by Bob Pfeiffer, who has been researching his family history for 20 years. He has pointed out that the Jean Bisson who married Marie Lesbirel, previously shown in this tree at generation 4, was not the one baptised in 1796 (son of Jean and Marie Blampied) but the one baptised in St John in 1775 to Jean Bisson and Jeanne Gruchy.

"I have copies of several legal documents relating to the couple, information from their home (Aylmer Farm in Herupe, St John) and I have seen their gravestone (with ages) at St John's church, although this is barely readable now. The Jean Bisson of 1796 married Margueritte Esther Bisson and they and their family can be seen on the early census returns."

Further research in 2021 has enabled us to confirm the relationship suggested by Bob and this section of the tree has been removed to Descendants of Jean Bisson and Jeanne Gruchy

We are grateful to Bob for this information, and apologise that it has taken so long to review the tree and make changes.

Record Search

If you want to search for records for any name in this family tree, or for any other family name, just click below on the first letter of the family name you are interested in. This will open a new tab in your browser giving you a list of family names beginning with that letter, for which there are baptism records in our database of half a million church and public registry records.

You can also select marriages or burials. Select the name you want and when the list of records is displayed you can easily refine the search, choosing a single parish, given name(s) and/or start and end dates.

The records are displayed 30 to a page, but by selecting the yellow Wiki Table option at the top left of the page you can open a full, scrollable list. This list will either be displayed in a new tab or a pop-up window. You may have to edit the settings of your browser to allow pop-up windows for www.jerripediabmd.net. For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.
