Jersey houses
Oaklands, St Helier

Oaklands14.jpg

This is one of those properties incorporating an old dated feature in a more modern house, which causes even more confusion because it was probably brought from elsewhere

As Joan Stevens wrote in the first volume of Old Jersey Houses [1] there are two interesting arches which may have come from Maison de La Rocque, to the south. The first arch is dated 1668 and the second 1638.

Mrs Stevens offers no further information about the property, nor any of its occupants
