Descendants of Thomas Binet
TreeIcon.png

This tree was created by Mike Bisson in 2021 in an attempt to bring together the Binet housholds of St Mary (a minor branch of the family) most of whom lived at La Fontaine close to the parish church, into a single tree. It will be seen from the notes within the tree that the attempt to assemble a tree which includes all the known family groups has by no means been an unqualified success

Record Search

If you want to search for records for any name in this family tree, or for any other family name, just click below on the first letter of the family name you are interested in. This will open a new tab in your browser giving you a list of family names beginning with that letter, for which there are baptism records in our database of half a million church and public registry records.

You can also select marriages or burials. Select the name you want and when the list of records is displayed you can easily refine the search, choosing a single parish, given name(s) and/or start and end dates.

The records are displayed 30 to a page, but by selecting the yellow Wiki Table option at the top left of the page you can open a full, scrollable list. This list will either be displayed in a new tab or a pop-up window. You may have to edit the settings of your browser to allow pop-up windows for www.jerripediabmd.net. For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.

Notes and references

  1. There are no baptism records for Binet this early in any parish
  2. It is by no means certain that the Jean who married Rachel was the widower of Elizabeth Le Coustuer, but there is nobody else in the frame and his second marriage four years after the death of his first wife would seem quite possible, as would the birth of his seventh child when he was 56
  3. Of La Fontaine, St Mary
  4. It is probable that the Jean who married Judith de Caen was a descendant of Jean and Elizabeth Arthur. It is unlikely, although not impossible, that he was their son, which would have made him 46 at the time of his marriage, and 60 when his last child was born. We think it more likely that there was an intervening generation, and Jean is the most likely candidate to have been his father
  5. Judith was probably born in 1770, the daughter of Richard (1738-1780) and Marguerite, nee Le Cras
  6. Of La Fontaine, St Mary
  7. Of La Fontaine, St Mary
  8. Of La Fontaine, St Mary
  9. Farmer
  10. Labourer, then farmer, of The Oaks, St Mary
  11. Biguerel in marriage record, Bigrel in children's baptism records
  12. Farmer
  13. Twin
  14. Twin
