William Bertram, Warden of the Isles 1448

Bertram may have just been a sub-warden in Guernsey, but with nobody other than the four-year-old Lady of the Isles Anne de Beauchamp appointed for all the islands at this time, it is likely that he would also have had responsibility for Jersey.

He is also shown as Warden in the 1926 book A Brief Description and Historical Notices of the Island of Jersey, which also shows Nicholas Hault as Warden at the same time.

Nothing is known about the life or career of either of these men, however
