Brehal is a seaside town on the west coast of the Cotentin Peninsula, south-east of Jersey. It is just north of the port town of Granville and has long been popular with visitors from Jersey. The sandspit along the coast, which remains a popular resort, with its large campsite, golf course and hippodrome, is known as St Martin de Brehal. It is popular with low-water fishermen and farmers have traditionally collected vraic (seaweed) from the beach in much the same was as in Jersey
