Descendants of Jan Huchet

This family originated in the Cotes d'Armor commune of Saint Jacut du Mene in north Brittany. It is not clear whether the Huchet at the top of the tree was Jan or Jean

The tree was added to the site in 2017 and reviewed in 2019. A further review in 2020 has cast doubt on the accuracy of the tree. It is possible that of the three brothers shown as moving to Jersey, only one - Jean Francois - was the son of Pierre Marie Huchet and Marie, nee Rochard. It is also possible that none of the three is a sibling of the others. Although Pierre and Marie appear to have lived in St Jacut du Mene, it is suggested that one or more of those shown as their sons actually came from St Jacut de la Mer, a different commune. We are still trying to resolve these issues.

The family gained notoriety because Francis Joseph Huchet, at the bottom of the tree, was the last person to be hanged in Jersey, in 1959

Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records.
