This Lockheed 14 is wearing the red, white and blue stripes applied in the 'phoney' war, in addition to the sparse standard British Airways Ltd markings (also later absorbed into BOAC.) Any local records of the event? My guess is that it had landed with the passengers shown but might have been flown off empty...probably to the nearby airfield.
