Registration of 'Alien' workers in Jersey was introduced during the Great War and the process was formalised in 1920, providing thousands of records of enormous value to family historians. This index is divided into two sections, covering those born up to 1900 and those born between 1901 and 1917.
Each section is sorted alphabetically, but the pre-1900 records, which were indexed in alphabetical order by Jersey Archive, do not follow normal conventions, and names such as L'Amy are indexed under A; Le Brocq under B. We have re-sorted the post-1900 births to follow normal practises.
The records include the Archive catalogue number (which can be used for a quick search on the Archive website for that record), full names, date of birth, place of birth, nationality and date of registration
