Army Technical School

Jersey has been home to a number of military academies, one of the least well-known and last surviving being the Army Technical School which was housed at St Peter's Barracks, adjacent to the recently opened Airport, as late as 1939
A report and pictures of an inspection by the Lieut-Governor of the day was published in The Islander early in the year.
- His Excellency, Sir H de C Martelli, Lieut-Governor of the Island of Jersey, inspected the Army Technical School at St Peter’s Barracks on Tuesday 21 February 1939.
- It was a fine, sunny morning, and the boys marched, manoeuvred and stood like guardsmen on parade.
- They are being trained as tradesmen and artisans, and after their graduation will be drafted to different branches of our modern mechanised army as experts in their various trades.
