- George La Croix Baudains, DSO, MC (1892- ) (St H) Captain, Royal Fusiliers, wounded. Military Cross citation:'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in action. When in command of the right front company of his battalion, a heavy enemy attack drove back the battalion on his right, leaving his flank exposed. In spite of this, he held his support line position against greatly superior numbers, and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy. Subsequently he was entirely cut off, but continued to hold on until he judged that the troops in his rear had had time to take up a new position, when he fought his was out, being woulded while so doing. By his splendid courage and coolness he set a fine example to all with him.' - July 1918
- The brothers were the grandsons of master mariner John La Croix and at the time of the 1891 census Philip Arthur, Mary Ann and two-year-old Arthur were living him at Peirson Villas, Janvrin Road, St Helier. By the 1901 census John La Croix had died and Mary Ann and Philip Arthur Baudains and living still at 1 Peirson Villas, with sons Arthur, now 12, and his younger brother George, eight. There is some confusion because the first census describes Mary Ann's husband as Arthur, and the second as Philip. They were married at St Saviour in 1886.
- George would later marry Adela Elizabeth Derbridge (1889-1990). Arthur was appointed a clerk in the English Civil Service in 1907. He appears to have returned to Jersey in later life and was living at Peirson Villas when his will was registered in 1953. George was living in London after the war.

- Frank John Baudains, (Gr) Sergeant, Essex Regiment, killed in action. Apart from apparently being born in St Helier, nothing else is known about his background. His previous identification as the son of Philip John Baudains and Jane Elizabeth, nee Aubin (see above) has now been shown to be wrong, because their son Frank John did not serve in the war
