Sunnycroft
Victoria Avenue

This house on Victoria Avenue was owned by George and Noreen Brasford from the 1950s and run as Sunnycroft Cafe for many years. Most of its regular customers knew it simply as "Brasford's"

George Brasford was a stalwart of the Jersey Green Room Club and a regular performer on the stage of the Opera House, including playing dames in Christmas pantomimes.

Jerripedia editor Mike Bisson recalls:

I was a young boy living behind the Brasfords in Belvedere Terrace and my brother and I used to play in the open field behind the house (now built on). We would buy our Eldorado icecreams from a hatch in the side of the house and then cross Victoria Avenue to the beach beyond. Today you would take your life in your hands crossing the Avenue here, with or without icecreams
