A good example of an 1830s rural house with many original features, with earlier origins as site shown occupied in 1795 Richmond map.
Two-storey, five bay detached house with wing to west. Pitched slate roof, rendered corniced chimneys.
Brook Hall inscribed on gate pier caps.
The house emulates the polite architecture of Georgian fashion but with a continuing local character.
Old Jersey Houses
'Beside a large maison de Terreneuve is this small house, its predecessor, no doubt, in pleasing coloured granite. It has granite chimneys, the Guernsey pattern of fenestration, and chamfered sourrounds to the main door. One small window on the north has surrounds of Caen sandstone. There are indications that there may have been a straight exterior stone staircase. The house would seem to be 17th century in date.' [1]
