Cancale

St Clement is the only Jersey parish whose twin town is not in Normandy, but Brittany. Cancale is one of the most important French oyster fishery ports, lying on the north Brittany coast between Saint Malo and Mont St Michel. It is unusual in having two jetties but they do not form an enclosed harbour. It also has the dubious distinction of being a town where it is almost impossible to find a parking space in summer anywhere near the row of restaurants which occupy most of the waterfront buildings

In days gone by a railway line ran along the seafront promenade. Today it has been replaced by a car park
