Descendants of Aimable Bourgoise

The church of Notre Dame d'Allonne, where generations of the Bourgoise family were baptised, worshipped, married and buried
This tree was added to the site in 2012 and enlarged in 2014, with further details added in 2018. A further review in 2020 resulted in the addition of five earlier generations. Although the head of the enlarged tree was Jean, we have retained the title linked to his descendant who moved to Jersey. We have shown only the direct line from Jean to Aimable, including siblings. The French generations all lived in communes in the north-west of the Manche department of Normandy, originating in the neighbouring, later merged, communes of Notre Dame d'Allonne and St Pierre d'Allonne.
A further review in 2024 by Mike Bisson resulted in the addition of more details
Bourgoise family page and links to other trees
In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records. It is not always possible to carry out such checks on sections of trees with United Kingdom and/or colonial content
If you want to search for records for any name in this family tree, or for any other family name, just click below on the first letter of the family name you are interested in. This will open a new tab in your browser giving you a list of family names beginning with that letter, for which there are baptism records in our database of half a million church and public registry records.
You can also select marriages or burials. Select the name you want and when the list of records is displayed you can easily refine the search, choosing a single parish, given name(s) and/or start and end dates.
The records are displayed 30 to a page, but by selecting the Wiki Table option at the top left of the page you can open a full, scrollable list. This list will either be displayed in a new tab or a pop-up window. You may have to edit the settings of your browser to allow pop-up windows for www.jerripediabmd.net. For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.

Notes and references
- ↑ Moved to Jersey. Worked as blacksmith. Although there is no reference to Aimable Auguste in this French tree or other records after his baptism, that is not unusual if he went to work in Jersey as a young man and remained there. French researchers who have not established a link to Jersey for the sibling of an ancestor who seemingly disappeared, often wrongly assume that he or she died in infancy. The record of Aimable Auguste's marriage in Jersey gives his father as Henri and his birthplace as 'Moitiers Dalogne'

- ↑ We have confirmed that the Rosalie who married Elie Guille was the brother of Aimable and Edouard. It is possible that the siblings moved together to Jersey, but given their ages, perhaps Rosalie followed Aimable and was followed some years later by her younger brother
- ↑ Although Edouard's marriage record shows him born in Grouville, we think this is unlikely. The first baptism in Jersey for this Bourgoise family (there was an earlier one in the 18th century) was Philippe William, son of Aimable and Esther Le Riche. We believe that Edouard was a brother of Aimable and Rosalie. Shoemaker
