The link from Generations 10 to 11 is understandably disputed by modern genealogists, some of whom suggest that the first Lemprieres in Jersey were descended in the mid-13th century from a branch of the family which had settled in Brittany. However, the Seigneurs of the Fief de Lempriere, who became Seigneurs of Rosel, came from a line of local seigneurs that extended to, if not beyond, 1180: See Descendants of Gilbert Lempriere for a corresponding tree which is likely to be more accurate

In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records. It is not always possible to carry out such checks on sections of trees with United Kingdom and/or colonial content
