  2. ↑ Master and privateer captain, 1765-1792; co-owner with Durell of the sloop Charlotte, 1792, in Southampton trade. His Will, dated 20 June 1807 and proved in December that year, left £1,200 sterling in 3% funds in England to be divided among the children of his late son Jean Kerby; to his daughter Francoise Marie Kerby £500 sterling in the same funds; to his daughter Anne Marie Kerby £1,300 sterling in the same funds [totalling £3,000]; a moderate legacy to Madeleine de la Cour, his housekeeper, the residue and remainder to be divided between his two daughters. His son-in-law, Charles Durell was appointed executor of the will, which was witnessed by Elie Durell and M Le Boeuf: D/Y/A/17/64, at Jersey Archive
