This tree, researched by Lara Pollard in 2019, was added to the site in 2022 by Mike Bisson. The Griffon family's connection with Jersey is somewhat tenuous; Louis Griffon (1851- ) moved to Jersey from Normandy at the age of 21 and worked as a docker. He married Philomene Le Borgne and their daughter, Annie Marie Florentine Griffon (1886- ) married into the Basset family

  1. ↑ We have not been able to discover anything definite about Francois' ancestry, but given the limited number of Griffon families in Bacilly - there may have only been one - it is possible that he was the grandson of another Francois (1704- ), who was the son of Michel Griffon and Jacqueline, nee Le Charpentier
  2. ↑ Possibly Tiennou, but Etiennault more likely
  3. ↑ Francois and Barbe married in Tirepied, Manche, in 1742 and had seven children. Francois, who had previously married Julienne Debieu, who died in 1741 giving birth to an unnamed son, was a labourer, the son of Denis Chapdelaine (1676-1734) and Noelle, nee Moulin (1677-1730). Denis was the son of Laurent Chapdelaine (1626-1681) and Julienne, nee Navet ( -1682). Denis and Noelle married in 1711 and had four children. A year after she died Denis married for a second time to Jacqueline Garnier (1701-1778) and they had a daughter . Laurent Chapdelaine was the son of Nicolas ( -1671) and Catherine, nee Leprestre ( -1668). He and Julienne Navet were married in Plomb, Manche, in 1671 and had five children. Nicolas and Catherine's marriage date is not known. They had a second son Andre about 15 years after Laurent was born
