This is an expanded version of a submitted tree, added by Mike Bisson in 2025. The tree has been checked against Jersey and French records

In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records. It is not always possible to carry out such checks on sections of trees with United Kingdom and/or colonial content

For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.

  1. ↑ There is a suggestion that Francois was born and died in St Julien, Hautes Alpes, but given that there is no source for either his birth or death, and the fact that his son was born in St Julien, Brittany, and his wife in Normandy, St Julien, Brittany, seems more likely for all family events. There is no commune called simply St Julien in the Hautes Alpes
