Descendants of Gedeon Villeneuve



Family tree for the Villeneuves of St Lo, who settled in Jersey in the late 17th century and married into the Low family from England. Note that this family's surname is variously found as Low and Lowe in Jersey church records. This tree was added to the site in August 2016. It has been checked against church records and more details were added in a 2025 review

  1. ↑ Jean Villeneuve was a master mariner, master in 1704 of Marie. He was subsequently a merchant and shipowner, living at La Vieille Mason, St Aubin. His son Gedeon was also a merchant: John Jean, in Jersey Sailing Ships, (Chichester: Phillimore & Co, 1982). Jean`s other sons, Jean and Pierre, were also likely to have been merchants
