Descendants of George Syvret



This tree, based on research into church records, corrects the top of the existing Descendants of Jean Syvret, and adds extra generations and a further descendancy. There is a question mark over the wife of Pierre Syvret at generation 3. The record of the marriage shows her as Elizabeth, but the baptism record for their daughter shows her as Judith. There is no baptism record for Aaron. Judith's burial record shows her as the wife of Pierre. Judith and Elizabeth Le Montais were sisters and there may have been confusion when the marriage record was entered. An extra generation between Jean (2) and Pierre (3) was removed in 2017.

Notes and references

  1. ↑ John Syvret was a mariner who made many voyages across the North Atlantic to Quebec, Canada. In 1884 in Paspebiac, on the Gaspé Coast, he married Ann Louisa Scott. They soon returned to Jersey and in 1888 with Miriam as a very small child, they emigrated from Jersey to Australia. Arthur John Syvret and Harold Gladstone Syvret were both born in South Australia.
