Descendants of Jean Moignard



We had some reservations about the top end of this tree, which was added to the site in 2014 and expanded in 2019. A further review was conducted in 2019 which established that the date of the marriage of Jean Moignard and Marie Piton (gen 4) which had been transcribed as 1725, should have been 1734, making them a perfect fit in the tree.

Other records are missing and, although Maniart has not previously been recognised as a variant of Moignard (gen 1), Maigniert has, and would seem to represent an acceptable 'half-way' point between the two spellings

In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records.
