In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records.   1. ↑ Jehan`s father was Thomyn Alexandre (c1400- ): Thomas Le Maistre Manuscript Transcripts, Vol. 1, 408, at La Société Jersiaise Library
  2. ↑ Originally shown by Langton, who extracted this section of the genealogy, as Guillaume, his name was recently changed to Bastien Alexandre, following "reference to church registers". However, the proposed marriage date from the registers, 1598, was more than a generation too late to have been relevant. Furthermore, Collette Le Dain was not the name of any 1598 bride. Guillaume has been restored
  3. ↑ One researcher, no doubt working from indexes, had Pierre`s first wife Thomasse, nee Hamptonne, as being buried in 1641, thus enabling her to be the mother of his children as shown on this page. The 1641 entry, however, was not from this parish`s register. It was from St Brelade. In addition, the true reading of that parish`s 1641 burial entry is "Thomasse, daughter of Eleazer Alexandre." Jeanne Vallet has been restored
  4. ↑ Church records show an Amice baptised in St John in 1627 as the son of Jean and Marthe. There were evidently two different Amices born in different parishes in the early 17th century
  5. ↑ Edouard`s placement is based upon a marriage and two godparent links with St Peter. He settled in Mont à L`Abbé, St Helier, probably on Messervy land, as no purchase has been found for it in his name. The marriage record has not been found, but is confirmed by his children's baptisms
