Descendants of Marin Aubin

This tree was first added to the site in 2012. We subsequently added a link at generation 3 from Thomas to a new tree, Descendants of Thomas Aubin - 2, which has more dates and other details than this tree. Both trees show this Thomas as grandfather of Clement, who married Susanne Le Febvre, but the new tree shows Clement's father as Thomas, rather than Jean, although the mother is shown as Jeanne Hubert in both trees. Another tree tracing the same descent, Descendants of Thomas Aubin, which was added in 2013, shows him as Thomas. Online trees tend to agree.

There is considerable confusion over the ancestry of Clement at generation 9, who married Jeanne Falle. Our research supports the view that his parents were Clement and Sara Neel, but beyond that there is uncertainty. This tree shows a line of Clements stretching back to generation 5, where there are two, who must surely have been father and son rather than brothers, as shown.

Descendants of Thomas Aubin shows the Clement who married Sara Neel to be the son of Philippe, and Descendants of Thomas Aubin - 2 shows him as the son of Thomas. We clearly still have considerable problems with some sections of the Aubin lineage which need to be resolved

Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records.
