Descendants of Michel Chouquet

This tree, submitted by a user, added to Jerripedia in 2016, and reviewed in 2018, has been checked against parish records. We had reservations about its accuracy, which have diminished following a further review by Mike Bisson in 2025, which resulted in the addition of parish details and dates.

The existence of a Thomas at generation 3 to make sense of the dates of the children of Thomas and Sara Payn is not supported by baptism records but it is probably confirmed by burial and marriage records. If the Thomas who married Sara Payn was the son of Michel he would have been 47 when their first child was born and 61 at the birth of their fifth. Burial records show another Thomas who died in 1619 who cannot be fitted into this tree. There are a number of Chouquet burials which do not correspond to people shown in this tree and for whom baptism records are missing. All of this suggests that the tree should still be viewed with a certain amount of suspicion.
