Descendants of Philippe Brasford

This Jerripedia family tree was first added to the site in 2016. It has been assembled from a short submitted tree and Jersey baptism and marriage records. It is not known where Philippe, at the top of the tree, came from.

Linking Philippe Brasford to Rachel Syvret as a second wife is somewhat speculative, but it does tie in with the death of Jeanne in 1690. There is no marriage record for Philippe and Rachel. Similarly, although there is no direct support for the second marriage of Jean at generation 2 to Marie Le Boeuf, it is supported by the death record for his first wife in 1720. At this time it was fairly common for a man left with a number of young children after his wife's early death to marry again quickly, and a second family inevitably followed. It is possible that Jean married for a third time to Elizabeth Major in 1726 and had daughters Elizabeth (1727- ) and Susanne (1729- ) by her. There is no baptism record for Josue (1776- ) at generation 4 but from census and other records it appears that he is most likely to be the son of Edouard and Judith Le Sueur

A 2024 review by Mike Bisson resulted in the addition of parish details, revealing that this family lived almost exclusively in St Helier until the 1870s
